Farmin and Her Family Longs for the Comfort of Home
Santak Bor Miching Gaon, Nazira Block, Sibsagar District, Assam
For Farmin Begum, recovery means more than repairing a damaged house. It means restoring the everyday life her family lost to the floods.
Farmin and her husband, Jahiruddin, supported their two children through his driving work and their livestock. With a monthly income of approximately ₹7,000–₹8,000, the family made the most of what they had.
The July 2026 floods damaged their bamboo house and kitchen, destroyed essential belongings and washed away their poultry, goats and cow. The losses affected both their living conditions and livelihood.
The family still lives in its partially damaged home. Relief assistance has helped meet some immediate needs, but replacing household essentials and lost livestock remains difficult. Safe drinking water and sanitation are also concerns.
Farmin hopes to repair her home, restore her livelihood and provide her children with a safer, more stable environment.
Together, let’s help Farmin and her family rebuild.
